Introducing - Georgia 'G' Howson

Hey hey hey! So I finally get round to writing my own blog after hassle from the guys! 


I'm Georgia or 'G' as I'm more commonly known. I've been G for so long I'm actually failing to respond to 'Georgia' these days! I have been on the Preston metal scene for about 10 years now with Protocol of Poetry and Force of Habit before forming Storm Corporation in the Summer of 2009 after a bit of a hiatus.


After singing/ playing in a few acoustic bands and busking anything from Levellers to Bob Marley from about the age of 15, I was asked to join and tour Europe as the vocalist of Scum of Toytown back in 1996, a punk/ ska/ reggae act from Stevenage. It was a great start for a young muso and I've never looked back since!


I came to Preston to start Law School back in 2001 and met the then Protocol of Poetry members who, having seen me sing at parties on a few occasions asked me to come and give vox to metal a try. I wasn't convinced given that a lot of my influences at the time were northern soul, acoustic based but the punk/ ska band experience gave me the attitude and my love for Rage Against the Machine and the Beastie Boys all the conviction I needed to give it a try! Both Protocol and Force did well in the North West and through touring and gigging I met so many amazing musicians who are now pulled together as Storm Corporation's dream team :) I feel fortunate to have them all on board, lucky to be given a great 'leg up' by journalists and producers and excited about the future in store for Storm Corps...

Introducing - Ryan 'Sticknastics' Briggs

Hey y’all, my name is Ryan but most know me as Sticknastics, bit weird but I deal with it. I am the newest and final addition to the Storm Corps family and I could not be happier and in a better place right now. I started playing drums when I was about 18 years old and it’s the only thing I’ve pretty much started and never quit! My main influences are Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan R.I.P and many more. I have been on the music scene in Preston in various bands but mainly with my Brothers of Metal “Without Motive”. When I was asked to do this I simply could not refuse. I have known G and Rossy for years and came so close to previously being in bands with them. I have met the other guys and have great respect for them all as musicians and now the time has finally come. I cannot wait...


Gear wise everyone will know I have the Massive epic kit lol but to let you know, I use Pearl Masters Drums, Tama Octobans and a mix of Zildjian and Sabian Cymbals and a nice set of chimes.
Looking forward to the future with this epic metal machine and hopefully see you all on the road.

Introducing - Paul 'Junior' Hindle

Hey all welcome to our Blogspot! Cheers muchly for stopping by, we appreciate the support and love you all \m/.

I'm Paul and as the newest addition to the Stormcorps family I suppose I'll have to get used to being called things like 'Junior', 'New Kid', 'Son' but sod it I'm happy as hell to be part of this! I've been playing guitar since the age of 15, self taught on a staple of Nirvana and Silverchair (grunger at heart!) then moved on to heavier stuff to get my metal on. I'd been involved in the local scene for a fair few years with the metal band Beneath Hades and I've always been a huge fan of G's projects so when I was asked to join Stormcorps I pretty much couldn't have said "yes" any faster.

Gear wise I use an Epiphone Gibson Les Paul (my first ever axe) and my pride and joy, PRS Custom 24 through a Marshall Triple Super Lead with a couple of Boss Pedals (Metal Zone and a Chorus).

Introducing - Mark 'The Bucket' Rowe

Hey music fans!! Thanks for stopping by our Blogspot and supporting us! It is you who make us want to be the best we can be!

Known as The Bucket and hailing from the western shores of the Great White North (that be Canada eh?) I moved to this lovely motherland aboot 11 years ago where I met some wonderful friends and musicians like myself. I've been playing the Bass for 18 years now, been involved in various projects and bands both in Canada and in England ever since. I met G a few years ago when Stormcorps was just starting out and quickly became a fan of the band and loved the music they were writing and playing. Then one day i was asked to join them on their epic journey. I was honoured to be asked to join such a great band and the decision was easy! 

I use an Ashdown Mag series amps through Trace Elliot cabs. and I use a Washburn Bantam series 5-string as well as a BC Rich Platimun series 4-string.

Introducing - Michael 'Rossy' Rawsthorne

Hey guys! Thanks for joining us on blogspot! ill try not to bore you with stuff all about me. Just the good stuff :D

Well I've been playing music since i was 14. I didnt take lessons, its wasnt worth the time or money when you can do it all yourself. Spent all my spare time playing Metallica songs.... and MORE Metallica. So if you havent already guessed my hero is James Hetfield! I want to sound like him, play like him, and dress like him!!  

Gear wise i use a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier through a Marshall cab. Guitars, Gibson les paul custom, Fender telecaster, Jackson DNKY and a Schecter XXX.

I was a massive fan of Stormcorporation since they first formed back in 2009. Then I got asked to join and I've never looked back since! :) Its music to drink your JD to and bang your head till your face falls off!

We're pretty proud to share this with y'all!! :)

We can rant and rave all day about how metal bands need to be brutal and technically adept, but the fact remains that the difference between truly great bands and the merely mediocre is nearly always the ability to write memorable tunes. In that regard, Stormcorporation are already several large paces ahead of most other aspirational British metal bands. The five songs on their debut EP are absolutely bulging with melodies that lodge themselves somewhere in the skull and refuse to be shifted. But it’s the combination of that melodic intelligence with an overall sound that brilliantly straddles the divide between state-of-the-art metallic crunch and old school heroics, with a substantial dose of progressive dexterity thrown in, that makes songs like A Quiet Belief In Angels and Stand Up And Be Counted so thoroughly likeable and impressive. This is unashamedly modern metal that thinks big and wears its ambition as a badge of honour, but with more than enough brains and brawn to dispel cynicism from the metal die-hard contingent. And yes, Stormcorporation are, whisper it, “a female-fronted metal band”, but vocalist G-Storm side-steps the usual stereotypes, oozes genuine, dizzying charisma and sings with disarming power and enthralling authority, particularly on EP highlight Megatronix; a classic metal anthem emboldened with myriad twists, turns and tangential leaps. It’s only on the mid-paced introspection of Serious Damage that this Preston-based quintet sound anything less than remarkable; a sturdy but traditional ballad, it proves that the band have versatility and depth, but lacks the electrifying urgency displayed elsewhere. Nonetheless, this is a debut effort that sounds like the work of a band that already know precisely what they’re doing. And what they’re doing is pretty fucking awesome. Ones to watch in 2010, without a doubt.
